TOSWO

Accessibility

What TOSWO does to be usable by everyone, and how to tell us when it is not.

This site is meant to be read by anyone, on any device and any connection, including people who rely on assistive technology and people who have only a phone on a weak network.

What we do

  • Pages work without scripts. The interactive globe and live numbers are an addition; the same information is in plain text and tables.
  • Text has strong contrast in both the light and the dark theme, and the five level colors never carry meaning alone: every level also has a number and a name.
  • Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus ring, and there is a skip link.
  • We respect "reduce motion" and "save data" settings: the globe stays still or is not loaded.
  • Images have text alternatives, headings follow a logical order, and page language is declared.
  • Pages are small, so they open fast on slow connections.

Known gaps

The globe is a visual aid; its data is also listed on the monitor page. Some long research articles are dense. We are working on plain-language summaries for each.
