Corrections and updates
People cite this record, so errors must be easy to report and visible once fixed.
What we correct. Wrong facts, wrong dates, a source that does not say what we say it says, a confidence rating that no longer fits the evidence, and anything that identifies a reporter.
How we correct. The entry is changed, a dated note says what changed and why, and the old wording stays available in the page history. Nothing is deleted quietly. If a source is retracted, the entry says so at the top.
How to report an error. Write to the address on the contact page with the entry's link and what is wrong. A researcher replies within three working days.
Confidence. Every incident carries a confidence rating and says who reported it. Entries based on a single report, a founder's own account or a press summary are marked as such and are raised or lowered when better evidence appears.
Log of corrections. No corrections have been published yet. This list will show each one with its date.
